Planning Tips

As with most things in life, giving some thought to the desired outcomes of any project, will normally yield a more positive outcome - than simply tackling the issues as they arise. This is what we all commonly refer to as "Planning".

When it comes to financial planning, there are many things you can do to ensure you experience the outcomes which are best for you. However, the first and most important component of any plan is to know what it is you are trying to achieve - knowing where you are now, and where you want to be.

When we first meet with you, you can be sure that we will ask you about your goals and objectives. Put another way, we want to know the things that are important to you.

Within this area of our web site, we have broken down "Planning Tips" into six different topics. These are;

  1. Retiring Soon - provides some planning tips for people approaching retirement
  2. Retired - planning tips for people who have retired and may already have a financial planner
  3. Investing in shares - this section aims to provide a greater insight into the reasons why any investor should invest a portion of there portfolio in shares
  4. Tax Tips - provides information which may help you better plan to maximise the tax effectiveness of your overall portfolio
  5. Minimising the Risks - provides information on how you can achieve a given outcome, whilst minimising the risks
  6. What type of investor are you? - helps you access your acceptance of certain risks.

Planning ahead is a good habit to get into and one that is likely to minimise any disappointments. Hopefully, some of the information within our Planning Tips section will help you become a seasoned planner. However, don't despair if you have never been one to plan, as we will be with you all the way!
